In 2005 slaagde de Londense politie erin om een onschuldige kerel, Jean Charles de Menezes, zeven keer door het hoofd te schieten toen hij al overmeesterd en hulpeloos op de grond lag. Ze dachten, verkeerdelijk, dat hij een terrorist was. Deze strip is gebaseerd op die gebeurtenis.

De strip is ook een beetje een vormexperiment, hoewel de vorm wel voortkwam uit het verhaal. Ik hoef het niet uit te leggen, u zal het wel zien.

De strip werd getekend door  Tim Joye en werd gepubliceerd in Plots Stripmagazine nr. 9 in april 2009 & in Fist Full of Comics Vol. 3 nr. 11 (Australië) in augustus 2011.

In 2005 the London police managed to shoot an innocent man, Jean Charles de Menezes, seven times through  the head at point blank range while he was already incapacitated and lying on the ground. They thought, wrongly, the man was a terrorist.  This comic was based on this story.

The comic is a bit of an experiment with form, though it definitely was the story that spawned the form. I don’t need to explain, you’ll see for yourself.

The comic was drawn by Tim Joye and was published in Plots Stripmagazine  #9 in April 2009 & in Fist Full of Comics Vol. 3 #11 (Australia) in Augustus 2011.

The English is clunky, I know, but I wrote this a while ago when my englis was even clunkier then it is now. Fuck it, I’d like to see you anglos write a comic in Dutch.
